Giuseppe Antonio Bernabei (1649?-1732) was active in Bavaria during the latter part of the 17th and early part of the 18th centuries. This hymn setting is suitable for Marian Vespers services, although he only sets verses 2 and 7, and indicates that the organist should play between those.
