This original of this previously unknown cantata by Telemann was digitised and put online by the owners, the Danish Royal Library.
After the opening aria come two recitative / aria pairs.
The oboe part is written in F, while the other parts are notated in E flat.
Baroque oboist Gail Hennessy tells us that the cantata works better for her instrument in the higher key, so we offer you the chance to buy either version.
We are grateful to David Bellinger for providing an English translation of the text.
Edited by Brian Clark.
Scoring: Bass solo, oboe, 2 violins, viola, continuo.
