This cantata was written for the 4th Sunday of Advent. After the opening Bass aria come a chorus, an aria for Soprano 1 with obbligato oboe, and accompanied recitative for Bass, and then a jolly aria for Soprano 2 leads into the final chorale. The trumpet (not written in Graupner's score, but extant as a part in his hand) plays in the tuttis.
