Geist's setting of the Lord's Prayer alternates a sinfonia with vocal declamations over instrumental "counterpoint" (in the style of a chorale prelude), culminating in a rousing triple time "for Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever".

Three of the seven verses of this well-known Christmas hymn are printed in the edition with the others (along with a translation) provided in the introduction. While the soprano sings the serene chorale melody, the two violins and gamba weave intricate filigree around about.
