Spanish-born Isidro Albarreal is a passionate musician, specialising in early music and historical performance of the violin and viola, currently based in The Netherlands. His composition – the title translates as "The Sparrow" – is a contrapuntal exercise of great lyricism.
As well as presenting the score in modern notation, the edition also includes the composer's own typesetting in an old-style font, mimicking Bach's handwriting.
